The refurbishment of the Inn's main toilets is now finished and this completes the current owner's refurb of all the Inn's bedrooms, the restaurant, bars, museums and shops.

The last area of Jamaica Inn needing refurbishment is almost complete. No expense has been spared to give the main toilet areas slate floors, rich timber carvings and feature lighting to couple old world luxury with modern plumbing.  Opening is planned for Monday 11 April.

Ukraine Refugee Appeal

Inn trading normally

January at Jamaica Inn has started well and relatively normally.  Some Covid safety measures have been reinstated to keep everyone as safe as possible including all customers being seated and diners being given full table service.  Bedrooms are being additionally treated after the usual cleaning and are then sealed ready for guests arrivals.  There are also little touches like room ...

Closed for Christmas

Because of the uncertainty about Covid, the Inn will be closed on Christmas Eve and through to 9am Monday 27 December when we reopen as normal. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause and hope to see you next year.

Omicron Safety Measures

We are carefully watching the developing threat of the Omicron virus and are already re-introducing some of our former Covid safety measures as a precaution. Whilst everything continues as normal for staying and dining at the Inn, such things as bedroom keys being sanitised, sealed in a bag and awaiting guests in their room on arrival and full table-spacing in our restaurant and bars are back. ...

Electric Car Charging

The Inn now has 4 car charging bays with varying types of connection.  These are part of the Highways England network and the only site close to the A30 for many miles. Turn left on entering the main car park and the bays are 30m along the front wall.

Bedroom Refurbishments

Jamaica Inn has 36 bedrooms and suites, 16 of which are modern, built just 4 years ago, and now all the other 20 older bedrooms have been completely refurbished.  Great care has been taken to ensure the very oldest retain their character including the wonderful old 4-poster beds.  Guests now have the choice of modern bedrooms or rooms in the oldest part of the building, full of character...

G7 - Australian Prime Minister Lunches at Inn

June 15 2021

Scott Morrison lunched at Jamaica Inn on his way to the G7 on Friday.  For security reasons the Inn was given only 3 hours notice to get ready for him and his party of 20 including ensuring Covid compliance. The Prime Minister chose the Inn’s top selling Steak and Ale Pie, which he declared ‘absolutely delicious’ and asked if we make them ourselves.  Of course we do!

The Inn’s hotel, restaurant, shops and museums are all now open. Making the Inn all the better for when we reopen! We're refurbishing our very oldest bedrooms. Looking to make the best of a bad situation whilst closed, we've been taking full advantage of having an empty Inn. Bedrooms 4, 5 and 6 the original bedrooms dating back to 1750 have been completely gutted (including that dreadful chip paper removed!), replastered in rough old-style then decorated...

Electric car charging now at the Inn

4 electric car charging bays have just been installed in Jamaica Inn’s carpark.  They are accessible now, even while the Inn is temporarily closed for Lockdown, and they extend our ‘green’ strategy that already includes wood pellets fuelling both hot water and central heating, negligible plastic use etc.  The Inn’s new Charging Point is part of Highways England’s new English network...

Opening times... Jamaica Inn is open from 7.30am, when breakfast is served to hotel guests and visitors, right through to midnight with dinner being served up to 9pm. The Museums are open from 8am to 9pm throughout the year and the Gift Shop and Farm Shop are open every day with times varying.
