Devon & Cornwall Point to point

A great day out was had by all at the Devon and Cornwall Point to Point March 29th.

The weather wasn't the most desirable but everybodys spirits were high. Jamaica Inn have been sponsoring the event since 1956 and we are proud to be part of such a wonderful day. We would like to say a big thankyou to all the event organisers, owners, trainers, riders and sponsors for making the event possible. The results for the day were :

Open Maiden, 4 and 5-year-olds only, 2m 4f (St Austell Brewery, Cornwall)

1 Arty Bella (Bryony Frost) 5-1 effort three out, led flat, stayed on well

2 Applesolutely (Sean Houlihan) 7-1 handy, slight lead two out, hdd flat

3 Come On Mother (Matt Hampton) evens fav prom, every chance three out, wknd next

7 ran; 2l; 4l;  6m 30s

1 Cailleach Annie (David Noonan) 8-1 with ldrs, led last, stayed on strongly

2 Brandy And Red (Pippa Glanville) 7-1 disp lead from 7th til two out, no extra flat

3 Whatastormnorm (Tom Chanin) 11-4 with ldrs til outpaced two out

Welstonedruid (Tom Chanin) 2-1 made most, headed two out, rallied to lead flat

2 Whenharrymetsally (Matt Hampton) 3-1 alwys prom, disp ld 15th, every chance mstk last

3 Lundy Sky (David Noonan) 20-1 kept on steadily from 15th

1 Silver Token (Harry Cobden) 1-4 fav held up, led four out, canter

Ned The Post (Tom Humphreys) 4-1 chased ldrs, outpaced from three out

3 Vertige Dore (Hannah Welch) 7-1 led 7th to 15th, lost touch three out

6 ran; 14l; 15l;  7m 30s

1 Blinding Lights (Matt Hampton) 5-2 led to 6th & agn after three out, held on gamely

2 Infamous Grouse (Darren Edwards) 2-1 ridden to chall two out, not quite get up under pressure

3 Way Before Dawn (Leanda Tickle) 5-4 fav led 14th til three out, outpaced next

3 ran; 1l; 10l;  7m 27s

Opening times... Jamaica Inn is open from 7.30am, when breakfast is served to hotel guests and visitors, right through to midnight with dinner being served up to 9pm. The Museums are open from 8am to 9pm throughout the year and the Gift Shop and Farm Shop are open every day with times varying.
