Bodmin Moor wins Dark Sky status!

Exciting news: the application by Cornwall Council and Caradon Observatory has been successful and Bodmin Moor has been designated an “International Dark Sky Landscape” by the International Dark-Sky Association. This reflects the incredible quality of the dark night sky over the moor, a commitment to educational outreach and efforts to avoid light pollution. More details are available...

A hog roast in the garden every Saturday from 29 July; on Friday 4 August & Sunday 20 August - Mark’s Ark Wildlife Encounter - creepy critters, birds, mini beasts; Saturday 19 August - a visit from the Screech Owl Sanctuary - learn about the wonderful owls of our world.

This Saturday, the evening starts with a delicious 2 course dinner from 7pm for only £15.95 per person. As well as the Jamaica Inn real ale, the Inn now has its own label lager and cider. Two really tasty brews have been chosen and  they are now on tap.

New rooms for summer 2017

16 more rooms are now being built by A D Williams Builders who also built Jamaica Inn’s big new kitchen. Building is at the extreme eastern end of the Inn’s current building thus construction is with minimal noise for guests. Completion is expected to be in June and the new rooms will take the Inn from 20 rooms to 36 rooms.

Inn's shops will be open all year round

The Inn has now confirmed both its Gift Shop and Farm Shop will be open through the winter. The new Farm Shop opened last July and the Gift Shop has previously been routinely closed mid-week during mid- winter.

Opening times... Jamaica Inn is open from 7.30am, when breakfast is served to hotel guests and visitors, right through to midnight with dinner being served up to 9pm. The Museums are open from 8am to 9pm throughout the year and the Gift Shop and Farm Shop are open every day with times varying.
